First of all I want to thank all my wonderful new followers! I'm excited to get to know all of you through your blogs as well!
My husband loves to read. He's read so many books from our local library that he only finds the New Book section interesting. So he decided to order books from different libraries across the state in order to find enough to read.
When his ordered books came in he was like my son at Christmas. He quickly ripped off the wrapping and threw it away. He totally ignored the big bold letters that said, "Do Not Remove." I found it in the trash the next day.
I showed it to him and he admitted tossing it out, he still didn't see why it was bad. I had to point it out to him. I thought, "Do you even have eyes?!" (That's my son's favorite line.) He read the message and finally understood the problem.
He felt a little silly handing the book back in to the librarian telling her he didn't know he wasn't supposed to remove the sleeve.
It makes me wonder what things I have missed that are right in front of my face.
I also want to say how much fun I've had being a part of the Campaign! I can't believe how many talented writers are out there posting there works. It's been great to read all the wonderful flash fiction. It amazes me how those few beginning words can conjure up so many different situations!

LOL. For Father's day we interviewed each of our kids about their dad. When we asked my 10 yr old what's one thing his dad always tells him he responded, "To think." He's a brain, but sometimes the most obvious conclusions elude him. Happens to us all, right?
ReplyDeleteLOL. Oh man this is funny. It sounds like something I would do. I'm always the person who asks for help finding something at the store and it's really right in front of my face! Aggravating!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the follow! It's going to be fun getting to know you.
ReplyDeleteI so want to borrow your sons line for one of my stories!!! Is that OK? :)
ReplyDeleteHey there. I have to say I'm in the same boat as your son...especially when it comes to ripping off tags from matresses. It drives me insane. :)
ReplyDeleteMy other half is like that. I'm forever pulling delivery notes and invoices out of the trash in case we need to send something back.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I find so funny and ironic is that he is such a voracious reader and yet he didn't even read the packaging!
ReplyDeleteAre you a part of a pb crit group?
Crystal- How funny. I'm always doing crazy stuff like that! Great idea for Father's Day!
ReplyDeleteAbby- I thought I was the only one who does that!
Matthew- Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting to know you too!
Joanna- Go ahead! I'd love to hear how you use it!
Laila- I detest tags!
Sarah- Lol. Ya gotta love em!
Christie- I know isn't it crazy! And he's always telling the kids to pay attention! lol :)
No I'm not in a pb critique group yet but I would love to join one!
