Best Week Ever!

Sunday we spent the entire day at the airport. We finally arrived home at 11:30pm totally exhausted.  I tucked Ryan into bed.  In a sleepy voice he exclaimed, "BEST WEEK EVER!"

And he was right.  Here are some of the things we were up to last week on our Caribbean cruise.

Hanging out with the wild life in St. Thomas.

SWIMMING WITH OMAR THE SEA LION!

AND GETTING KISSED BY HIM! :)

Building sandcastles

Hanging out on the beach

Horseback riding through the surf in Turks and Caicos

And....

Eating far more ice cream on the cruise ship than we needed!

I hope you all had a great week!

Kathy :)

  1. Oh my gosh, I'm so jealous!
Your pictures are fabulous. Omar is so cute. What I wouldn't give to take a Caribbean cruise.

I'm glad you had a good vacation.

  2. Omar was sooo adorable. I wish I knew what he was thinking. It was either, "Humans are so easily amused" or "Yay I don't have to swim around in this lonely pool by myself today!" He did climb up to the edge of his enclosure and watch us leave so hopefully he enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed him! :)

  3. Hey, I know Omar! Word has it that he was fired from Sea World San Diego in 2010 for nudging his trainer into the pool, stealing some fish, and not filing a 1099 with the IRS. I am pumped to see him working again and obviously enjoying himself.

As for cruise ship ice cream, were you aware that on the opposite end of the ship from the engine room there are several 'scream rooms? Indeed, these are 10' by 10' former cabins occupied by various flavors of ice cream. That's why Carnival and their ilk NEVER run out.

It sounds like you did have a "best week ever." Too cool.

P.S. Please send Omar a postcard re the aforementioned 1099 before the IRS and his new employer do.

  5. Looks like such a great trip. I'm thinking of doing the same with my daughter and son this year. The cruise ships are so close and the deals are great.

  6. Looks like you all had a blast! Our honeymoon was a Caribbean cruise too. Definitely a contender for the best week ever!

I love the last picture. Ryan looks like a dude. Is he wearing his dad's jacket?!

I've tagged you in the Lucky 7 meme and there's questions too, when you have time! Details at my blog :)

    1. Thanks! Ryan did have his own coat but it was a hand-me-down from a friend who is quite a bit bigger than my skinny son!

Oh thanks for the tag. I'll head on over! :)

  7. Love that photo of the seal kiss. Did he smell fishy?

    1. No fishiness, but his whiskers were like kissing Santa Claus. :)

  8. OK, I wanna know how you are so familiar with what it is like to kiss Santa Claus. :) So what is your choice for next cruise destination?

  9. It sure was the Best Week Ever! With all the pasta and ice cream he enjoyed, Grandpa and I are hopeful that Ryan may have gained some weight, too!
